The aftermath.

Workout:

Teams of two. Each participant to complete 3 rounds of.

100m medicine ball toss (20lb ball)

100m walking lunges with ball

20 sit ups

20 Kettlebell swings

20 push ups

While your partner is completing the medicine ball toss and lunges, you have to complete as many rounds as possible of the sit-up, kb, push-up workout.

Post your time and number of rounds completed in the other exercises to comments. For a combined score, divide the number of rounds completed by your time (in seconds). Partial rounds don’t count.

(for example: 30 min (1800 seconds) to complete the entire workout, your team performed 9 rounds total of the other exercises, your score would be 9/1800 = .005 . The higher the score the better)

If you don’t have a partner, time yourself doing the toss and lunges, then use that as your time to complete the sit-up, kb, push up rounds.

    Team Ink (John/Sarah): 26:26 / 8 Rounds = .005
    Team “U Said 2!” (Stav/Justin): 26:26 / 8 Rounds = .005
    Team “Ick” (Rick/Nick): 27:30 / 9 Rounds = .0055
    Team “Fubar” (Craig/JJ): 27:30 / 10 Rounds = .006
    Team “Beef” (Darren/Mike): 28:46 / 9 Rnds = .0052

Sorry for the confusion, people: 4 rounds each or 4 rounds per team…glad we settled on 3! What an ass-kicker those lunges were!! Love it.

Interesting article.. however, assuming it was a major issue then why are so many kids fat??

My legs are so mad, they aren’t talking to me any more. I am sure I’ll ‘hear’ all about it on Wed.

I almost threw up my first Muscle Milk after I got in the car. Made me wonder if it would taste as good coming up as it did going down.

Article: I think the article covers one extreme to the other. Similar to the rate of eating disorders increasing while the obesity rate is also going up. The key in this article being that ‘the effect was significant regardless of how thin or fat boys perceived themselves to be.’

I would suspect that these boys would be at a higher risk for trying illegal steroids, and such.

I wonder if there is a correlation to today’s comic books in addition to video game magazines.

Interestingly, I remember seeing the fitness ads in the back of the “Archie” comics where the guy gets sand kicked in his face by the big ‘meathead’.

    I don’t think I was permanently damaged.

D-Day +1. My legs HATE me!!!!!! Between the nice little 5′ fall and then all the lunges, I’m already feeling it. I also just moved to a new squadron up on the hill, so guess what I get to walk 3-5 times a day. Yep, a gnarly little bitch of a hill. Fun.

The only muscles a Gaming mag ever encouraged me to work was my thumbs and fingers. But that’s just me.
