Fatty Acids link to Alzheimers

Tests on mice showed that reducing excess levels of the acid lessened animals’ memory problems and behavioural changes.

Writing in Nature Neuroscience, the team said fatty acid levels could be controlled through diet or drugs. . .

Scientists from Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease and the University of California looked at fatty acids in the brains of normal mice and compared them with those in mice genetically engineered to have an Alzheimer’s-like condition.

They identified raised levels of a fatty acid called arachidonic acid in the brains of the Alzheimer’s mice.

  • Jeremy Jones

I think your times are off Jorgy. Connor didn’t finish (See my results posted). I think there might have been a miscount at the event as well (not that it matters to us).

  • Carry

Nice job guys….wish I could have been there. 12 hours @ Marine World with wall to wall cheer leaders just wasn’t the same as hanging out with you guys and doing crossfit!

  • Shannon Stornetta

I am SO SORE! Such a fun day- I still can’t believe that I finished Grace at the rx weight! Carry- you would have kicked but- we missed having you there!

  • Craig

Great work, Shannon, JJ, Josh, Stav & Bryan. Thank you for repping DCF so well.

    Congrats on Elizabeth, Shannon.

  • Austin

Diablo reppin hard! Thank you guys for coming out and giving it all you got. You all have a fun light hearted spirit about life and seem very united as a team. Jeremy- thanks for the shirt. Congrats on all the PR’s guys.

  • Mark L.

Great job, everybody! Now for a couple days of REST and EATING!
The results confirm my suspicions that Jason Kalipa is, indeed, from another planet. A 2:23 Fran and he rested on pullups?
I just noticed that JJ and Jorgie were only 1 SECOND apart until Grace! Sorry I couldn’t be there to yell!
My son placed first in the cake eating competition in Larkey Park at his 1 year old birthday party while you guys were sweating it out.

  • Carry

I can believe it Shannon….you seem to get stronger every time I see you! I KNEW you would be able to do Grace rx. Wish I could have been there to see it. Great FRAN time too 🙂

  • Darren

GO RIGHT NOW TO THE MAIN SITE AND WATCH JOSH EVERETT DO “KING KONG” IT IS SICK

IT IS UNREAL. I GOT SICK TO MU STOMACH BECAUSE HE IS SO STRONG.

  • Mark L.

My HSPUs are better… can’t do the barbell stuff, though. =)
I did get a little sick to my stomach.

  • Herm @ CF Los Altos, CA

Sooo glad I’ve met you guys. Y’all are beasts! What the heck you been eating? Deviled eggs maybe?

Awesome family you guys have at Diablo. I’ll make it a point to visit your box soon. Thanks for the invite, JJ 🙂

  • jorgy

We definately need to make a trip out to Los Altos to check out the box. Herm is beastmode and a really cool dude. There really is nothing like getting a bunch of lighthearted, humble, motivational, and half nutzo crossfitters together for an event. We’ve all shared the pain, we’ve taken the journey and we all love every second of it. It is nice to see that the comraderie passes beyond the walls of DCF.
