Article:

The biggest losers are getting bigger.

“We know that when we watch The Biggest Loser on television that what we are watching is a carefully contrived fiction. The people on the show, the people wearing the colorful T-shirts and sleeping in coordinated colorful rooms, they are an experiment in social conditioning. If you give people enough money and put them into team environments, you can get them to do anything, even things that are painful and potentially harmful to their metabolisms. You can scream at them and walk on their legs and they will do it, even when you make them cry 14 times a day, they will do it. And you can trot out past winners and say, “Look, it works. See? It totally works.” That’s what they say, anyway.

Check out a few of the former Losers and how they are doing now. . . “

Top secret? Is she putting in a wet bar… a direct pipe to Black Diamond Brewery in Concord?
I’m a little hesitant to attach a “for time” constraint to something as form critical as the power snatch, but at just 75 pounds, I guess it might be fun. =) With 75 reps, there’s plenty of practice built right in!

Mark is right. Don’t focus on the time element! Watch Sage’s video – multiple times, she is a master technician. Look at her grip width and starting position: elbows out, chest up, flat back.

Then she brings the bar to mid thigh. From mid thigh she jumps: a smokin’ fast 2nd pull (full hip extension and shrug).

Her feet stomp is simply to get them planted (flat!!) as fast as possible for the catch.

The bar stays close to her body as possible – elbows go up, not back, as she drops for the catch.

    And, thank you, Jenn!!

Tomorrow should be fun…and a great tribute to Miguel. I never met him, but obviously busted his A## repeatedly. See everyone at 10:30…if you have extra 50# DB’s, bring em!

    Extra 50# DB….so tomorrow’s WOD involves dumbells?
