Article: Study finds genetic link between sleep disorders and depression

“A study in the Feb. 1 issue of the journal Sleep was the first to use twin data to examine the longitudinal link between sleep problems and depression. Results of this study demonstrate that sleep problems predict later depression; the converse association was not found. These findings are consistent with the theory that early treatment of sleep problems may protect children from the development of depression. . .”

    I’m already sore less than 24 hours after those 40# weighted 400m walking lunges. That’s never a good sign. Maybe the KB swings can flush things out.

    Are those pictures from the fishing thingy supposed to suggest that drinking and using a rower are not a good combination?

    Damen, I think the suggestion is that drinking 100 oz of beer in 100 minutes will make you puke (the “Century”).

    Joined Jaz at the 930 class. I hate double-unders, like more than just about anything in life. The funny thing is, I was explaining and showing people how to do them before the WOD. When it came time to do my “40”, I blew it. Maybe got 2 in a row a couple times, the rest were pitiful. Had to do single unders on the last set, just lame. I think I finished the WOD in 13:30, but it wasn’t RX’d (b/c of DU’s). I used the 2p Kettlebell, so that was cool. Afterward, hit the CF Mainpage WOD.

    This is the first time I’ve done this WOD, I had some misses at the end and could have gone faster, but overall I’m happy with it.

    Stav, next time, I suggest doing your double unders WITH the 2 pood strapped on.
    I’m jealous of your muscle ups (I have 7:55 as one of my 2009 goals)!
    I need to get my slow muscle up back. It’s nowhere to be found since I did a couple in front of Jan and made my arms sore a few weeks ago. I think it’s coming back soon, though.

    I was dreading the DUs until I got 7 in a row! Yay! Last time I couldn’t even string 2 together! My time was 15 and change. Had to tinkle after the first round of DUs. I also rocked the 44# KB. I love this WOD!

    6:45 with the 2pood.

    I had to slow down the doubles a little bit due to plantar fascia pain. . . but I definitely killed that one!

    My overall time was pretty bad for this WOD. KB swings were the worst. However, the double unders were pretty good. Got 20 in a row in the first round, 15 in a row in the second round, and 18 in a row in the third round. Any time I made up was lost in the break I took after the did the consecutive double unders. BOOOOOO.

    JJ- I think I have that plantar thing too, thought it was the bone spur in my heel but since doing more running, box jumps and rope jumping I have a lot more pain. I have been wearing a arch support on my foot when it is really irritated. What do you do for this?

    Sarah- double unders always makes me go pee, before, during and after. I heard it gets worse when you get older. Missed you today. Hard for me to come on Mondays.

    So freaking sore from the walking lunges. Walking down stairs is the worst. Last time I did this WOD I was sore for 7 days.

    Sorry I missed the great football food party yesterday. My husband would not let me ride on his motorcycle with him over to the shed because we have a daughter now. His excuse was he did not have a helmet for me. I guess he will be buying me a motorcycle and helmet now.

    Yvonne – I have a dvd on how to ‘roll’ (aka massage) your calves for plantar pain. I’ll show you where it is.

    I also can recommend a helmet if you wish (Jamie has a good one that she likes).
