Article: Buying experiences, more than buying material things, leads to greater happiness.

The study demonstrates that experiential purchases, such as a meal out or theater tickets, result in increased well-being because they satisfy higher order needs, specifically the need for social connectedness and vitality — a feeling of being alive. . .

Great job 6am on the power cleans!! This is a hard movement to learn. Very explosive and powerful…It’s My favorite.
Go-Heavy-Holly is about 5 lbs away from doing body weight 5 times!! And her form is flawless.
After the WOD we did a 800m Indian chase. Good Times.

The other great part about “buying experiences” is that they don’t take up space in your already overcrowded garage. If I had a nickel for every “thing” I purchased and let go “unenjoyed”, I’d be a rich man.
Several years ago, I was helping a pastor get us all ready for a youth mission trip to a Navajo Indian reservation we were going on, and I asked what he was most excited about. This was our first time visiting “real indians!”, and I was expecting something like you’d hear from a 10 year old boy.
He said, “I’m excited about the memories we’re going to build into these kids that will last their lifetime.”
Sometimes, that one night/day/weekend out with your sig. other (or old or new friend) will be one of those “lifetime” memories we’ll look back on for decades. Sometimes, it’s just another respite from the daily grind…
Either way, make the time, book it, and find out!

Hi Shannon, yes – I’m pretty sure that’s why the pic is up there, should have kept my mouth shut… So far they haven’t found it, but I’m sure they will. At least it isn’t as bad as the last one!

    Annie in open gym:

That double unders practice really paid off, though I wish I had looked at the clock before starting on the 10’s. I rested between rep 5 and 6 of situps for a couple seconds. DOH!

I LOVE how you can clearly spot Craig and Jeremy in the FilFest pic. lol. =]

  • Jeremy Jones

You can always spot Craig and I in the photos (Hint: we are usually in the back row, doing something like hanging from trees, or holding kegs above our heads, etc).
