+++3pm classes will be canceled this weekend due to the games. But don’t worry, I’ll be posting workouts you can do at home so if you can’t make the morning classes you can still get a workout in! Olympic lifting class and Muay Thai is canceled this weekend as well.+++

Article: Another study showing a reduced diet thwarts aging and disease.

“Writing today in the journal Science, a team of researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Wisconsin National Primate Research Center and the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital reports that a nutritious but reduced-calorie diet blunts aging and significantly delays the onset of such age-related disorders as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and brain atrophy. . .

What a great time doing “Team” Murph. (Thanks for that one Jesse!!!)
We had some great times in the evening classes, and we had some great solo performances. Lauren pulled a 44 minute time, all alone, although there was a slight “malfunction” with the timer (not naming any names–and where did our “Diablo Extreme Timer” go?)
Marketa did a great job with half Murph, too.
Kevin and Eduardo had a great performance though it made me sad watching Kevin run first after being the one that completed the squats.
I had a great time just supporting the WOD doers while I had my rest day. It made me think about people like Jesse. People that choose to live their lives’ purpose to serve others (as their vocation). It’s no small decision, and “Murph” was a fantastic choice for a going away workout.
    I love this place.

Saturday’s events are now up at the Games website.

    Dear Little Baby Jesus,
After 101 SDHP’s and ‘Murph’, I am fairly certain my shoulders are dead. Not just a little sore, but ebola virus laden and about to fall off. Please take them, they served me well.
    Love, Adam

Best of luck to everyone representing DCF at the CFG 2009! I think we have a super strong, well rounded affiliate team, and Darren and Jeff will definitely make a name for themselves as individuals. I’m pulling for all you guys. I have a weighlifting meet this weekend, and I’ll be chasing some PRs.

Yvonne was quoted on the Games page under the entry “3, 2, 1… Go!”. She’s talking about the wall ball event.

Awesomely great: 16th overall out of almost 100 affiliates.
The best part: Thumped one-world. Balance has been restored to the universe…

Did you have to take Jorgy to hospital afterwards?

  • Rodil

Did Jorgy make it to the Games today?

  • Mike Erickson

I don’t know. I assumed he would be there if he could even stand up. I guess we’ll find out soon.

Oh, and Crossfit Oakland was #43 or something (they dominated, last year).

  • Amy

    Respectable placing!
Very. And I know you guys had good socks.

PR factory today at the shed. Single 205 deadlift and a set of 155 back squats. Fun metcon that would have been even better had I read the instructions and done it properly. Do-overs allowed. It’s always encouraging to watch girls lift heavy weight overhead. Thank you Jordan for being there today and making it possible for all of us to get some work in.

We had a little strict press birthday party for Jaz. She’s legal!

  • kaela

DCF totally rocked today. for those of you who didnt make it down, YOU MISSED OUT! julie’s deadlifts were EPIC!

  • Jeremy Jones
