Diablo will be getting a team together for the next Race in April. We will also be hosting some Clinics to help with all the obstacles.
This is Diablo’s “First Friday” Community event and workout. We’ll be getting together, Cinco de Mayo style, enjoying a workout and a beer.. or a little tequila. We’ll have good music, a good wod and a few fun team challenges, like the Cerveza 1000 (think “beer mile”).

Hydrostatic Body Fat Testing

Body Fat Test provides hydrostatic (underwater) body composition analysis. According to university research, hydrostatic weighing is the Only GOLD STANDARD to which all other body fat testing methods compare their degree of error. This includes calipers, bioelectrical impedance, the Bod Pod, Dexa Scan and others.
During the test, you will totally submerge yourself comfortably warm water, heated between 89o and 94o, for only a few seconds. You are in complete control. You need to bring a swimsuit and a towel. We have private dressing rooms on board. For your comfort the lab is air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter.
Eating within 2 hours before the test may affect your results by up to 1½%, but no more. Therefore, we advise you not to eat within two hours before the test. Working out and drinking water is alright. You should try to use the restroom and take a shower if possible. Also, please do not have large amounts of makeup or hair gel on when testing.
The water is chemically treated for cleanliness, similar to a swimming pool or spa, and is run on a constant filtration system throughout the day. The lab is fully heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer to provide a comfortable testing environment.
A trained technician will be with you every second of the test. You will have privacy and confidentiality during the entire test, which only takes 10 minutes. You may have a friend in the clinic at the same time observing if you wish.
After the test, you will receive a 4-page printout, which includes your body composition including body fat percentage, lean mass percentage, resting metabolic rate, and caloric expenditure tailored specifically for you.

The CrossFit Games are the world’s premier test to find the Fittest on Earth.
In order to find the fittest, CrossFit has to cast a wide net. The three-stage CrossFit Games season acts as a funnel, starting with the all-inclusive online Open, advancing to the selective live regionals, and concluding with an elite few on a world stage at the CrossFit Games.
The 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games California Regional features the fittest men, women, and teams from Northern and Southern California. Only the top 40 men, 40 women, and 30 6-person teams were invited to compete at the California Regional.
Over the course of the three-day weekend, the athletes will face a barrage of tests designed to reveal any flaws in their fitness. Can they do well in long events? Short events? Heavy lifting? Gymnastics? To make it to the Games, these athletes must be true generalists capable of handling any task thrown at them.
The five men, five women, and five teams who do the best in relation to their peers across all of the events will be invited to compete at the CrossFit Games held at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin, Aug. 3-6.

Regional tickets cost $75 for three days or $30 per day (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
Kids 12 and under are admitted free of charge with a ticketed adult.
Each Regional athlete will receive one complimentary three-day pass (teams will receive six, one per athlete).
It has been a tradition to do the workout “Murph” each Memorial day in honor of all who serve.
Due to the popularity of this workout (and the long time domain) we ask you sign up for heats. You can compete the workout individually, in pairs, or with a team!
- 1 mile run
- 100 pull ups
- 200 push ups
- 300 squats
- 1 mile run
(Advanced*: 20lb weight vest the entire time, Intermediate: no vest, Novice: 1/2 murph).
Partition the pull ups, push ups, and squats as desired (20 rounds of 5/10/15 is generally best).
BYOB and come hang out if you do not want to participate in the workout, we hope you will come enjoy the company and cheer on your friends who are doing it.
About Michael Murphy –
A team of 4 Navy SEALs led by LT. Michael P. Murphy on a mission to capture or kill a key Taliban leader, found themselves seriously outnumbered in a firefight with well over 100 enemy troops. Pinned down and under intense enemy fire, their communications operator severely wounded, they were in desperate need for help. Due to the mountainous terrain, their communications could not be received. Understanding the situation, LT. Michael P. Murphy moved to open exposing himself to enemy fire, to use his satellite phone to request immediate support to save his team. LT Murphy was mortally wounded making that call. They continued fighting until Lt. Murphy and two of his three team mates were mortally wounded. His fourth team member, severely injured himself, managed to escape where he was taken in by a local villager until he was rescued 4 days later. He went on to tell the story in a book titled “The Lone Survivor”
For his selfless leadership, courageous actions and extraordinary devotion to duty, LT. Michael P. Murphy received the Medal of Honor, the first service member to receive the medal in Operation Enduring Freedom, and the first Navy recipient of the medal since Vietnam.
