Chad Svoboda

COACH

Born and raised in Walnut Creek, Chad has returned home after living in the South Bay for several years. Chad was always an active person growing up, working for the City of Walnut Creek Recreation Department for over 13 years, participating in track and water polo throughout high school. In college, Chad continued running track for Cal Poly-SLO. Off the track, Chad served on several University Student Programs and working as an Athletic Trainer in the Intercollegiate Athletics Department.

After graduating college, Chad felt strongly that one should practice what they preach so he embarked on a new lifestyle of fitness beyond only running. Having been a ‘rail’, ‘bean-pole’ and ‘stick’ most of his life, Chad worked with a trainer for over a year, where he was able to gain 50 lbs. of muscle.

Achieving his own goals lead him to want to help others by pursuing a certification and career as a personal trainer and then manager for 24 Hour Fitness. It was here that Chad was introduced to CrossFit by one of his trainers. That was 7+ years ago, and he has not looked back.

Chad now shares his passion for fitness with the corporate employees of Albertsons-Safeway as their General Manager for their Fitness Centers in Pleasanton, Phoenix, and Boise…in addition to those @ Diablo. His motto: “Life is what you make of it. Live it to the fullest by constantly moving. That is what a healthy and fit lifestyle is all about.”
