In 2011, Coach Guz (no one calls him by his first name) suffered through his 1st CrossFit workout at CrossFit Moxie. He had finished his time as a US Marine and moved to San Jose, CA. Of course he considered himself to be in excellent shape. However, that very first CrossFit workout kicked… his… butt…he was hooked.
From that day forward CrossFit (Nutrition, Conditioning, Gymnastics, and Weightlifting) became his passion. He read everything he could on the subject, watched every video, and even began helping out at CrossFit Moxie in his spare time. CrossFit Moxie soon became his family.
A lot has changed since the day he found CrossFit and CrossFit Moxie in 2011, but his passion for it has only grown. Whether you consider yourself an athlete, soccer mom, arm chair quarterback, or just want to be fit… Coach Guz and the staff here at CrossFit Moxie are ready to help you achieve your goals.
Coach Guz still serves our country in the California Army National Guard as a Combat Medic. He owns a Cane Corso named Kara, enjoys black coffee, kit kats, and tacos.
