Katie has always had a love for sports and coaching others. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she spent 11 years swimming competitively. Not straying far from the water, she rowed crew for 3+ years at the University of the Pacific, where she graduated with a BA in Sports Medicine.
Her love for teaching and coaching began with her first job as a swim instructor and lifeguard in 2003. This continued until she began coaching swimming in 2011. In addition to swimming, Katie also spent 2 years coaching collegiate, high school, and masters rowing.
When she walked in the doors of CrossFit Moxie in December 2009, she was immediately hooked on not only the workouts, but also the community. Her passion for fitness and helping others led her into coaching CrossFit in 2012. Katie has also been a full time competitive swim coach for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics since 2012.
