The ’26 Open. CrossFit HealthCare! IF Challenge 14/10×3. Camp Diablo. Yvonne’s Horror List TWA 10.20.25

This is an iconic Friday Night Lights picture that speaks volumes about the CrossFit Games Open and the CrossFit Community:

  • Athlete Nate Wantatah is a coach at CrossFit Oakland and a CrossFit Games Masters athlete coached by Diablo’s Jackson Miller – and he’s clearly in the “zone.”
  • Yvonne, Diablo owner and CFG Masters Athlete, is Nate’s judge in this workout and is pushing him hard to finish the Open 25.3 workout on the rower.
  • Cynthia Miller, Diablo member and Jackson’s wife is very energetically cheering Nate while holding her son in a baby sling.
  • Me: blindly trying to capture the moment for Diablo’s social media while dressed in the theme for the Friday Night Lights event.

2026 Open Registration begins in December!

THE FUTURE OF CROSSFIT IS BRIGHT  – As the pundits and critics weigh in online regarding the future of CrossFit (now in it’s 25th year!), I remain steadfast in my belief that the CrossFit methodology is the absolute best for overall health and fitness for anyone. My belief is founded upon my own extensive life experience with sports & fitness which includes: water polo, skiing, bodybuilding, power lifting, 6 marathons, several short-distance triathlons, and 20 years of CrossFit, AND more importantly, empirical data from CrossFit and Diablo. As a result, I am confident that CrossFit will continue to dominate the health and fitness industry and remain on of the most popular strength and fitness companies in the world.

CrossFit’s early years were defined by explosive growth — a grassroots movement that spread rapidly through word of mouth and authentic results. Like many disruptive innovations, that initial surge naturally leveled off as the market matured and the brand evolved. But while the curve has flattened, the foundation of demand remains incredibly strong.

Today, the global appetite for fitness — and specifically for training that produces measurable, lasting results — continues to expand. Around the world, more people are prioritizing strength, health, and community-based exercise experiences. In that landscape, CrossFit remains uniquely positioned to lead. Its proven methodology — constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity — consistently delivers broad fitness and real-world health outcomes that few, if any, other programs can match.

International markets are now experiencing the same groundswell of interest that the U.S. saw a decade ago, with affiliates emerging in new regions every year. This global expansion, combined with the deep loyalty and local autonomy of affiliates, ensures that CrossFit’s demand is not a passing trend, but a durable movement. As consumers continue to seek substance over novelty, CrossFit’s results-driven, community-centered approach positions it to lead the next era of functional fitness worldwide.

YVONNE’S LIST: Looking for some scary sh*t to watch for Halloween? – you better ask Yvonne. She loves horror movies! Here’s two of her recent favs.. ugh.

HBO: Final Destination Bloodlines – This is the 6th movie in the gruesome Final Destination series. I’m not a horror fan, but this movie was very entertaining – scary, and also hilariously ridiculous.

HBO: The Substance – this is a very funny, and very compelling body horror film about an aging fitness actress (Demi Moore!) who craves a younger version of herself. Very good, very bizarre and hilariously gruesome.

Make it an awesome week!
