This is 2025.
Fast forward to 2026: we have 50 more athletes registered for the Open with one more week to go!

AND SO IT BEGINS…
The CrossFit Open begins this week. The energy is building. Anxiety is creeping in. It is with me. In fact, chances are, everyone is feeling the stress. Even the people saying, “It’s no big deal,” are thinking about it just a little more than usual.
Because it IS a big deal.
For some of you, there’s the pressure of advancing to the next stage — Quarterfinals. For others, the goal is simple but powerful: be fitter than last year. Lift a little more. Move a little faster. Go unbroken. Stay a little steadier under fatigue. And for many, it’s something even more real — three weeks of doing a workout judged by a peer, with your score posted for the world to see. That vulnerability is legit.
No matter where you fall on that spectrum, we all feel it. Anxiety isn’t a sign you shouldn’t do this. It’s a sign that you take this seriously.
Ironically, the more nerves you carry into these workouts, the greater the exhilaration when it’s over. When you finish that last rep. When you submit your score. When you realize you showed up despite the doubt. That feeling — that deep sense of accomplishment — is something many people never experience. Not because they can’t… but because they choose not to put themselves in the arena.
We do. And that’s why the Open makes us better humans.
We learn how to perform under pressure.
We learn how to support each other when it’s hard.
We learn that we’re capable of more than we thought.
Over the next three weeks, remember: this isn’t about perfection. It’s about participation. It’s about courage. It’s about growth.
Embrace the anxiety. Then step onto the floor anyway.
Let’s fng go!!

CRAIG’S LIST: Obesity Part 2 & All You Need To Know About Fitness & Supplements
- YT: I Am Done Being Obese, Episode 2: Nathan attends the CrossFit Level 1 Certification. When Nathan Shipley found the CrossFit community, his life changed. His physical and mental health began to improve, and he developed new motivation to become a coach. In this episode, Shipley attends the CrossFit Level 1 Seminar in Boston, Massachusetts. Shipley’s passion for the CrossFit methodology is apparent as he absorbs the foundational material taught at the seminar and becomes visibly inspired to help others find the path to health that he has.
- Podcast: Rhonda Patrick on Diary of A CEO Podcast. RP is one of my favorites. She is a PhD and only in recent years has she really ramped up her own personal fitness integrating CrossFit into her workouts. She’s now an evangelist for strength training, intensity and variance: all things that make CrossFit so effective. She also talks about the 4 best supplements EVERYONE should be taking & why: Vitamin D, Fish Oil, Magnesium and Creatine.
Make it an awesome week!
