Amazing Grace Charity Event Oct 5

Amazing "Grace"

Every year since 2008, our Diablo community comes together to do the CrossFit “girl” workout “Grace”:  30 Clean & Jerks for time (#135/#95). Donations for the event have benefitted the “Barbells for Boobs” organization (Breast Cancer Awareness) and in 2018, the family of DCF’r Sarah Aronsen. Diablo’s “Amazing Grace” event has raised $10’s of thousands over the last 10+ years.

This year, we’ll be doing “Grace” for the Norsled Rescue Group.

WHEN: Saturday, October 5th, 9AM – 12PM
WHERE: Diablo CrossFit
DONATION: $20
WORKOUT:  Grace – 30 Clean & Jerks for time (#135/95) – scaling options available!

For The Dogs

Each year, approximately 670,000 dogs are euthanized in shelters, according to the ASPCA. Around the Country many non-profit breed rescue services, like Norsled Rescue, travel to shelters to rescue dogs before they are euthanized. They do everything they can to care for the dogs, bring them back to good health, train them for home life and find them permanent homes with new families. If needed they also provide foster care homes to help with the transition process.

The Northern California Sled Dog Rescue Group was established for rescuing, rehabilitating, fostering and finding homes for unwanted, abandoned and abused Northern breed dogs: Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Samoyeds, and mixes of these breeds. Each year the Norsled Group finds home for more than 200 dogs!

In recent years, sled dog breeds are becoming a dominant breed in shelters likely due to the popularity of the dogs from the Games of Thrones series.  Unfortunately, sled dog breeds are intelligent working dogs and usually need an active lifestyle.

This year, Diablo CrossFit has chosen Norsled Rescue as our charity partner. 100% of all Amazing Grace donations will be donated to the group to help them find homes for unwanted Sled dog breeds.
