1000 VISITS IS A LIFESTYLE
There’s something special about looking at the list of Diablo members who have crossed 1,000 class visits with us. Some of those names have been walking through our doors for more than 20 years. More than 100 members have reached that milestone. Think about that for a second. That’s not a short burst of motivation. That’s not a six-week challenge (though some started that way!). That’s a lifestyle.
What stands out to me is that only a handful of those members are here for the “sport” side of CrossFit. Most come because they want a great workout, they want to move their bodies, and they want to connect with their Diablo friends. Many of them scale workouts, reduce loads, or modify movements when needed. And yet, every single one of them is fit. They move well. They look healthy, strong, and confident. They carry themselves like people who train – like people who take care of themselves… like CrossFitters.
And that brings me a lot of joy – because that tells me we’re doing something right. The moment someone begins to identify as “a CrossFitter” or even simply “a fitness person,” everything changes. Fitness stops being something they do once in a while and becomes part of who they are. That identity is powerful. It means they’re far more likely to stay active, stay healthy, live longer, and influence the people around them to do the same.
At Diablo, that may be the greatest win of all: helping people become so consistent, so capable, and so connected that fitness becomes part of their lifestyle and ultimately, part of their legacy – and ours.

A CRAZY IDEA MADE REAL: MASTERS TEAMS SEMIFINAL-ISH
Diablo recently received an invitation for the 2026 CrossFit Games Online Team SemiFinals – happening June 4th – 7th. Similar to the Online Age Group SemiFinals, Teams of 4 athletes have 4 days to complete 4-5 workouts and submit their results. The top 10 or 20 athletes advance to the CrossFit Games. Unfortunately, several of Diablo’s top m/f athletes are unable to compete on the Team this year. However, many of our age-group athletes would LOVE to compete on a team BUT, CrossFit does not have an official “Masters Teams” category at the Games.
So, Coach Jamie Lee and I decided to create a “Shadow” SemiFinal Masters Team Competition: “MASTERS MADNESS 2026” which will take place the exact dates and times of the official CFG Online Team SemiFinals. COST: $30 PER TEAM (only $7.50 per person!)
Our objective: create a very fun team competition experience for CrossFit Affiliates and their Masters Athletes.
Here’s how it will work:
- Masters Madness Teams MUST have 2 Men & 2 Women – all in the same age group (see below)
- Masters Madness Team Age Groups are as follows:
> 40-49 | 50-59 | 60+ - All Teams Must Register online at Competition Corner and list all athletes & ages ($30 per team)
- As soon as CrossFit announces the official Team SemiFinal workouts, Jamie will quickly create age-group scaled versions of the workouts.
- Registered Masters Teams will have to follow the same workout schedule for completion and score submissions.
- Workouts should be completed using a CrossFit Affiliate coach or judge for verification.
- Scores MUST be submitted to the official Masters Madness website on Competition Corner.
- Videos are NOT required. However, video verification of workouts may be requested for prizes.
- Prizes MAY be awarded if we get enough people to register for this thing.
This competition is OPEN to CrossFit Affiliates everywhere!

CRAIG’S LIST: Stuff I’m Watching, Reading, Using or Listening to…
- YouTube – MUST WATCH: PURE CROSSFIT THRILLS – Mayhem Classic – CrossFit Games SemiFinal Event 2: “GWEN”. The next level of competition for the CrossFit Games got started this weekend at CrossFit Mayhem – and it was an epic show! And, everybody’s favorite event to watch was the CrossFit Benchmark workout; “GWEN” – 15,12, 9 Unbroken Clean & Jerks for time at 185# for the men and 125 for the women. You might think that most of these athletes should easily be able to do these large sets unbroken, but the reality was a bit different – it took nerves of steel, mental fortitude and hulk-like grip strength to get through this workout! The athletes put ON a show – and the outcomes changed with every set. Check it out… and btw, the other workouts and the next day’s workouts were almost as exciting. This event may go down as the BEST CrossFit SemiFinal event ever. Congratulations to Rich!
- YouTube – Learn: Double Under Progressions – Fix Arm, Wrist & Hand Positions. I loved this progression video from my friend Nicole Christensen! Learn the hand snap for a more efficient and consistent double-under.
