April Gymnastic Skills Clinics

Get GYMNASTY!

We’re launching 8 new clinics to help you master a few of the more technical gymnastic skills in CrossFit and in the CrossFit Open. These small group clinics will include:

  • A skill related warm-up and mobility drills to prepare you for the drills and movements
  • Plenty of in-class demonstrations for visualization teaching
  • Progessive skill instruction 
  • Tips & tricks & cues for faster adaptation
  • Homework practice drills
  • 1/1 coaching instruction

Price: $20 each – Members  (Non-Members must purchase an additional “Drop-In” visit for $25)

Handstand Walking

ALL LEVELS

This one hour clinic is for those that want to improve their comfort upside down. It’s also for those who are steady on their hands and want to take a few steps. 

Do you already have handstand walks in your wheel house? Then attend this clinic to fine-tune your upside down walk.

Pre-requisites: Must have a current membership, 12-Pack or Drop-In pass. You should feel comfortable holding a handstand hold against a wall for at least 45 seconds. 

Choose Your Class (only 1):

  • Sun, April 7, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM, or
  • Thu, April 11, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Bar Muscle-Up

BEGINNER BAR MUSCLE-UP

This class will go over positions and some learning drills along with what strength you need to develop to get your first Bar Muscle Up.

You’ll practice hollow holds and learn the important differences between a pull up and a bar muscle up. 

Pre-Requisite: At least 6 months of CrossFit experience. If you have pull-ups, this clinic will provide you with the fundamentals and drills to take you over the bar. Must have a current membership, 12-Pack or Drop-In pass.

Class Date / Time:  Thu, April 18, 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

ADVANCED BAR MUSCLE-UP

This class will take you up and over the bar! If you have the C2B pull ups and a few strict pull ups, Coach Travis will give you the tips and tricks to help you achieve your first bar muscle up! 
 
If you already have Bar Muscle Ups, this clinic will help you improve your efficiency and link consecutive BMUs. 
 
Expect to walk away with an awesome gymnastic workout and several skills and drills to help you master the Bar Muscle Up.
 
Pre-Requisite: Chest-to-Bar Pull Ups and 1-3 Strict Pull Ups. Must have a current membership, 12-Pack or Drop-In pass.

Ring Muscle Up

BEGINNING RING MUSCLE-UP

This class will go over the hollow-body position and include several learning drills. You’ll learn what strength you need to develop, and practice the hand grips in order to help you achieve your 1st muscle-up. 

Expect to walk away with an awesome gymnastic workout and several skills and drills to help you work toward your first Ring Muscle Up.

Prequisite: Should have at least 6 months of CrossFit experience. You should be able to do kipping pull-ups. Must have a current membership, 12-Pack or Drop-In pass.

ADVANCED RING MUSCLE-UP

Are you close to your 1st muscle-up? Or, you got one and can’t repeat? This is the clinic for you!

You’ll learn the false grip and the fundamental skills to help you achieve your 1st muscle-up. If you already have muscle ups, you’ll learn to become more efficient and how to properly link multiple muscle ups. 

Expect to walk away with an awesome gymnastic workout and several skills and drills to help you master the Ring Muscle Up.

Prerequisite: 3-5 Kipping chest-to-bar pull-ups. Must have a current membership, 12-Pack or Drop-In pass.

About Coach Travis

Travis has a background in high level gymnastics. He started gymnastics when he was just 3 years old.  He became one of the youngest Junior National Team Member for Australia. At the age of 16 he moved to the Olympic Training Center (OTC) in Colorado. There he made the Senior Men’s National Team where he qualified for the 2004 Olympic Trials. Unfortunately, a severe injury on the Vault ended his Olympic pursuits.

A few years later, Travis joined the Cirque Du Soleil Family, where he performed all over the country.

He has been coaching for the past 15+ years and has coached gymnasts from all over the country and world. He has had athletes on the Junior and Senior USA National Gymnastics Team.
